Delhi Crime: Haroon Saifi, the main accused in Rashid murder case, arrested, shot in the leg in a police encounter.
Delhi Police has arrested the main accused Haroon Saifi, who was absconding in the famous Rashid murder case in Dayalpur area of Delhi. 24-year-old Haroon Saifi, resident of Bhagirathi Vihar, was wanted in this case for a long time. His arrest took place during a special operation by the Special Staff from the area between Signature Bridge and Khajuri Khas Metro Station.

According to the police, after receiving secret information about the presence of the accused, the special staff team laid siege around Khajuri Khas metro station. As soon as Aaron reached there, the police signaled him to stop. However, instead of surrendering, he tried to flee the spot and started firing at the police team.
In retaliation, the police also opened fire, one of which hit Aaron in the leg. After being injured, he was controlled on the spot and sent to the hospital for treatment.
Weapons and scooter recovered
During the arrest, the police recovered a semi-automatic pistol, two live cartridges and a scooter from the possession of the accused. Necessary legal action is being taken in this regard.
Third and main accused in Rashid murder case
According to police officials, Haroon Saifi is the third and most important accused in the Rashid murder case. Two other accused had already been arrested in this case, while Haroon was continuously absconding by dodging the police. His arrest is being considered a major success in the investigation.
Rashid was murdered on June 15.
It is noteworthy that on June 15, Rashid, who operated a water plant in Dayalpur police station area, was shot dead by unknown assailants. After the incident, a case was registered at Dayalpur police station under FIR number 293/2026, section 103(1)/3(5) of the Indian Justice Code (BNS) and section 25/27 of the Arms Act.

After the arrest of Haroon, Delhi Police interrogated him and started investigating the conspiracy of murder, other people involved in the crime and the reasons behind the incident.
