Kia’s Big Bang! Kia’s 3 new SUVs will soon be in the market!

Kia has announced its long-term plan for the Indian market during the 2026 ‘Investor Day’. According to this plan, the company will launch 10 new models by 2030, which will include 8 electric and hybrid vehicles. Also, the company aims to sell more than 4 lakh vehicles per year. Meanwhile, the South Korean carmaker is gearing up to launch the Kia Syros EV to rival the Tata Nexon EV and the Mahindra XUV3XO EV.

Based on the ‘K1’ platform, the car will be Kia’s smallest and most affordable electric car in India. Like the petrol-diesel model, it will have a boxy and tall shape. However, it will stand out from the regular model with a new grille, reshaped bumpers, aero-optimized alloy wheels and an ‘EV’ badge. The interior of the car will also see some electric-specific changes.

Official details of the car’s battery and motor will be revealed at launch, though it is likely to get the same 42kWh and 49kWh battery packs as the ‘Hyundai Inster EV’. Coming to the pricing, the base variant of this new electric SUV is expected to be priced around Rs 15 lakh and the top-spec variant is expected to cost around Rs 20 lakh.

After the launch of ‘Cyrus EV’, Kia Company is going to enter the field of hybrid cars. These will include ‘Kia Sorento’ a three-row 7-seater premium SUV and ‘Kia Seltos Hybrid’. According to the report, both these hybrid cars in India may use an electrified version of the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine.

For information, the ‘Kia Sorento’ available in Europe gets a 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine and a 6-speed automatic gearbox. There, all-wheel drive is offered as standard in all variants of this SUV.

When launched in India, the Kia Sorento Hybrid will compete with the likes of Skoda Kodiaq, Volkswagen Tyron R-Line and Jeep Merition. It is estimated to be priced between Rs 30 lakh and Rs 35 lakh. Also, the price of the upcoming ‘Kia Seltos Hybrid’ will be higher than the current petrol-diesel model.
