Thousands of phones rang at midnight, ‘alien attack’ alert created panic in Brazil

Brasília/New Delhi. After midnight in Brazil, thousands of people lost their sleep when suddenly a shocking emergency alert reached their mobile phones. The message allegedly warned of an alien attack. This notification, which came at around 1 o’clock in the night, created confusion and panic among the people, after which people in many areas started contacting the police and disaster management agencies to get information.

The message was sent through Brazil’s civil defense alert system, which is commonly used to warn of floods, storms, landslides and other natural disasters. But this time the language of the messages sent through the system surprised people.

Panic spread due to warning of ‘alien attack’

‘Extreme Alert’ category notifications reached many people’s mobile phones. Some messages told humans to be prepared for a possible alien attack, while others used words that sounded like the script of a science fiction film.

Many people got scared by these sudden messages. Some families woke up their relatives for safety reasons, while others saw it as a prank or fearing that the system would be hacked.

  • Officials said fake alert

After the incident, officials clarified that there has been no alien attack in the country. The investigation revealed that the National Disaster Alert System was tampered with and a third party transmitted fake alerts remotely.

In view of the situation, the concerned platform was temporarily closed at around 1:30 am. After this, technical teams started investigating the system and the matter was reported to the Federal Police.

    Federal police engaged in investigation

Brazil’s Federal Police are now trying to find out who gained unauthorized access to the warning system and how the fake messages were transmitted. Technical experts are trying to remove security flaws and make the system completely secure.

Flood of memes on social media

After the incident, a series of reactions started on social media. Many people shared funny posts and memes about it, while some citizens expressed concern that misuse of an important system like disaster warning could spread unnecessary panic among the people.

    Events added from UFO files

Interestingly, this incident happened at a time when some old files related to UFOs from the US Defense Department have been in public discussion in recent times. However, experts and officials have repeatedly clarified that reports of an unidentified flying object cannot be interpreted as alien activity.

Currently, this incident of ‘Alien Alert’ in Brazil is sparking a new debate about the technical security and reliability of disaster warning systems.
