Ranchi JSCA Stadium Stampede: A major accident took place during the final match of Jharkhand Premier League (JPL) T20 on Tuesday (June 23) night in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand. A huge crowd led to a stampede outside the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) International Stadium, in which several spectators were injured. It is being told that a crowd of spectators was continuously entering the stadium gate to watch the final match, during which there was chaos and this horrifying scene was seen.

According to the information, spectators started gathering since afternoon to watch the final match of Jharkhand Premier League (JPL) T20. Thousands of people started reaching the stadium several hours before the match started. However, the checking and security process at the entry gates was very slow, leading to long queues outside the gates. As the crowd grew, pushing and shoving started and the situation gradually went out of control. Due to increase in crowd a stampede broke out.

According to preliminary information, about 35 people have been injured in this stampede. Many people suffered minor injuries, while some injured have been admitted to the hospital in critical condition. The injured were taken to Raj Hospital, Paras Hospital, Sadar Hospital and other nearby medical centers for treatment.

Situation worsened after barricading broke

It is being told that more than 30 thousand spectators had reached the stadium to watch the match, but the entry system was not adequate compared to the crowd. People had to wait outside the gate for a long time, due to which the pressure continued to increase. The situation became worse when some people, angry over the delay in entry, broke the barricades at the West Gate. After this, a large number of people started trying to go inside together, due to which a stampede-like situation was created. Along with this, people also created a ruckus at the North Gate. There was a huge crowd towards MS Dhoni Pavilion also.

Thousands of people were waiting outside the stadium to enter. Some people also tried to break the closed gates. As soon as the gates were opened, a large number of spectators started entering inside simultaneously. During this, many people lost their balance and fell, due to which many spectators got injured. Women and children were also included in the crowd, due to which the situation became more sensitive. Immediately after the incident, first aid was given to the injured and later they were sent to the hospital. The administration has started investigating the entire matter and questions have also started being raised regarding the security arrangements.
