11 days, 8 states, 4000 KM chase… then 8 accused of robbery worth Rs 1.5 crore were caught

The police has finally solved the case of sensational robbery of Rs 1.5 crore in Sarai Rohilla area of ​​Delhi. The joint team of North District Special Staff and Crime Branch arrested eight accused after chasing them for about 4000 kilometers in eight states for 11 consecutive days and scanning the footage of more than 500 CCTV cameras. Police have also recovered more than Rs 1.01 crore in cash from the looted amount.

The company’s employee had hatched the conspiracy

Investigation revealed that Karan, an employee of the victim company, was the mastermind of this entire incident. He had complete information about the movement and route of cash. On the day of the incident, he was present with the victim and was continuously sending the live location to the miscreants. Out of greed, he along with the gang had prepared the entire plan of robbery.

This is how the crime was carried out

On June 10, businessman Nitin along with his associate Karan were carrying around Rs 1.50 crore in two bags on a scooter. Near Zakhira flyover, two masked miscreants riding a bike without number plate stopped them. One of the accused looted bags full of cash by pointing a pistol and fled away.

First clue found from CCTV

The police scanned CCTV footage several kilometers from the spot. Investigation revealed that the miscreants were stalking the victims from Paschim Vihar itself. Apart from the bike, Scooty and Maruti Swift car were also used in the incident. On the basis of the scooter’s number, the police reached two minors, after interrogating them the entire gang was exposed.

The accused kept running from Rajasthan to Jammu

The main accused of the robbery, Vicky alias Ganja and Dhir Singh had fled from Delhi after the incident. To escape from the police, he traveled to Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab and Jammu. However, the police continued the chase and finally arrested both of them from Delhi on June 22.

Preparation to impose MCOCA

Police have detained six adult accused and two teenagers. Many criminal cases are already registered against the accused. Delhi Police is now preparing to impose MCOCA on this organized crime gang.
