Pune. A sensational murder case has come to light from Pune district of Maharashtra which has reminded the famous Raja Raghuvanshi case. Ketan Vishal Agarwal, 26, the only son of a prestigious real estate business family of Pimpri-Chinchwad, was murdered by his fiancee Siya Goyal and her lover Chetan Chaudhary. Both of them first conspired to commit murder and then tried to make it look like an accident.

According to police investigation, accused fiancee Sia Goyal was in a relationship with her boyfriend Chetan Chaudhary and did not want to marry Ketan. Despite this, the marriage of both was fixed with the consent of the families and in November, preparations for the royal wedding were going on in a grand palace in Udaipur, Rajasthan by spending about Rs 17 crores. Up to two chartered planes were booked for the guests.

Investigation revealed that both of them were going to visit Bali before marriage, but Sia canceled the trip on the pretext of losing her passport. After this she planned to call Ketan to Lohagarh Fort on the pretext of her birthday and pre-wedding photoshoot.

According to the police, on June 14 also the accused had tried to push Ketan into the ditch, but the plan could not succeed. After this, on June 18, Sia again planned trekking and photoshoot. As per the fixed plan, her lover Chetan also reached there.

According to Pune Rural Police, in a deserted area of ​​the fort, the two first hit Ketan on the head with a heavy object and then pushed him into a ditch about 400 feet deep. After the incident, Sia called it an accident and claimed that Ketan’s foot had slipped while getting the photo clicked.

Ketan’s body was recovered after about three hours of rescue operation. The case was initially treated as an accident, but the deceased’s family raised questions over Sia’s unusual behaviour. Family members said that even after the death of her future husband, there was no expression of sadness on her face.

After the family’s complaint, the police started a thorough investigation of the case. Investigation of phone records, call details and social media activities revealed the love affair between Sia and Chetan. During interrogation, both of them confessed to the murder conspiracy and the incident.

Police have registered a case against both the accused under serious sections of murder and criminal conspiracy and arrested them. At the same time, the family of the deceased has demanded that the case be heard in a fast-track court and the accused be given the harshest punishment.

This high-profile murder has sent shock waves across Maharashtra and the police are now investigating whether any other person was also involved in the conspiracy.
