Team India’s victory in the blockbuster match: Increased dominance in Pro League by defeating Pakistan

New Delhi .The match played between India and Pakistan in the FIH Pro League 2025-26 once again became memorable for hockey enthusiasts. In this high-voltage match played at the Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Center in London, the Indian team performed brilliantly and defeated Pakistan 4-3. Under the leadership of captain Harmanpreet Singh, Team India not only registered victory but also maintained its dominance for the last decade.

The Indian team entered the field full of confidence after the victory over Olympic champions Netherlands. However, the start of the match was not as expected for India. In the eighth minute of the first quarter, Pakistan’s Nadeem Ahmed gave his team a 1-0 lead by converting a penalty corner. Despite the initial setback, the Indian players did not lose their composure and continuously maintained pressure on the Pakistani goalpost.

In the second quarter, the Indian team completely changed the course of the match. In the 22nd minute, Abhishek gave India equality by scoring a goal on the rebound. Just two minutes later, Neelkant Sharma scored a brilliant field goal to give India a 2-1 lead. Till halftime the Indian team appeared to be in full rhythm and kept increasing the pressure on Pakistan.

India’s attack continued in the third quarter also. In the 40th minute, Sukhjit Singh displayed excellent skill and scored a brilliant goal. He threw the ball in the air and made such a shot which was not possible for the Pakistani goalkeeper to stop. This goal increased India’s lead to 3-1 and strengthened its hold on the match.

The match became more exciting in the fourth quarter. In the 52nd minute, Rajinder Singh scored a brilliant goal at the penalty corner to give India a strong lead of 4-1. Rajinder brilliantly took advantage of captain Harmanpreet Singh’s accurate pass. However, Pakistan did not give up and thanks to goals from Abu Mahmood and Moin Shakeel, the score reached 4-3. In the last minutes, Pakistan tried its best to equalize but the Indian defense showed strength and ensured the victory.

This match once again proved that India has consistently dominated Pakistan in hockey in recent years. In the matches played between the two countries so far, Pakistan has won a total of 82 and India has won 68, but the picture has completely changed in the last ten years. During this period, India has been undefeated in 18 matches against Pakistan, which includes 16 wins and two draws.




  • With this victory, the Indian team has strengthened its position in the FIH Pro League points table. India has reached seventh position with three wins in 13 matches. Whereas Pakistan team remains at the bottom of the table with 13 consecutive defeats. Now the Indian team will have its eyes on the next matches where it has to play one more match against Pakistan and two important matches against England.

    This victory is considered very important for the Indian team not only in terms of points table but also at the level of morale. The Harmanpreet brigade once again proved how pressure can be converted into opportunity in big matches.
