Divine Jalabhishek and Aarti took place in the presence of Swami Chidananda on the banks of river Indus.
Ladakh. Jalabhishek and a grand Sindhu Aarti, filled with devotion, spirituality and nationalism, were organized on the holy banks of Indus River in the divine presence of Param Swami Chidanand Saraswati, President of Parmarth Niketan, Rishikesh. On this auspicious occasion, revered saints, devotees, youth and guests from different areas paid their respects to Mother Sindhu and took a collective pledge for water conservation, environment conservation and preservation of Indian cultural heritage.
The Sindhu Aarti, which was performed amid the chanting of Vedic mantras, blowing of conch shells and the supernatural glow of lamps, illuminated the entire atmosphere with spiritual energy. The devotees performed Jalabhishek of the sacred water of Mother Sindhu and prayed for the prosperity of the nation, world peace, human welfare and balance of nature.
On this occasion, Swami Chidanand Saraswati said that Indus is not just a river, but a living symbol of India’s eternal culture, civilization, spiritual consciousness and national identity. The relation between India and Hindustan etc. is also related to Indus. Therefore, respect for Indus is not just respect for a river, but respect for our cultural identity. The ancient Indus Valley Civilization developed on the banks of the Indus River. Even today, the Indus River is not just a water stream, but a symbol of India’s cultural heritage, national identity and spiritual consciousness and is a source of inspiration for water conservation and environmental balance.
He said that water is the basis of life and our rivers are not just water streams, but the life streams of our culture. If the rivers remain clean, pure and uninterrupted then life, nature and future generations will also be safe. While calling upon the youth, Swami said that along with saving the spiritual heritage of India, making water conservation a mass movement is the biggest need of the hour. He said that if every person takes a pledge at his level to save water, stop plastic pollution and keep the rivers clean, then it will be an excellent service for the entire nation.
Swami Chidanand Saraswati said that if there are rivers then there is the world. He said that rivers are not just a source of water, but the foundation of life, culture, civilization and spiritual consciousness. The existence of human life, agriculture, biodiversity and entire nature depends on rivers. If the rivers remain clean, pure and uninterrupted, then only the future of the coming generations will be secure.
He said that Indian culture has always given the place of mother to rivers, hence their conservation is our moral and spiritual responsibility. Pujya Swami ji called upon everyone to take a pledge to conserve water, adopt a plastic-free lifestyle and save rivers from pollution. He said that service to rivers is service to humanity, service to nature and true worship of God.
