Maruti Brezza Facelift To Launch In July With Turbo-Petrol Engine
Maruti Suzuki is working on a facelift to the Brezza. There have been multiple test mule sightings in the recent past. It has now been confirmed that the facelifted Brezza will launch in the second half of July and will have a turbo-petrol engine on offer.
The facelift will have minor design revisions, more features, improved safety and more importantly, a turbo-petrol engine. This will be the first major revision to the Brezza’s powertrain lineup since its launch in 2016. The outgoing model is only available with a 1.5 naturally aspirated petrol and CNG powertrains.
Dealer sources familiar with the matter have reportedly told Financial Express that two engine options will be offered on the updated Brezza. These are exclusive of the CNG option. Dealers have also confirmed that inventories of the outgoing model are almost over.
So, what will be the second petrol engine? Well, the carmaker will introduce the heavily localised 1.0-litre turbo-petrol, sourced from the Fronx, on the new Brezza. This would improve the Brezza’s performance credentials, as the 1.0L turbo-petrol is a strong engine. It makes 98hp and 148Nm.

The introduction of the new engine will also help Brezza qualify for lower taxes. It measures 3,995 mm in length. However, the outgoing model does not qualify for the lower duty due to its engine. To qualify, the engine capacity should be below 1200cc (1.2L).
The new engine will help in broadening the SUV’s appeal among buyers looking for stronger performance. It could pack more appeal into this sub-compact SUV. The carmaker will also be able to optimize the Brezza’s costs further with the new engine.
On the facelifted Brezza, the 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine will continue to be offered alongside the newly-introduced turbo-petrol. The CNG version will also continue, but could see the introduction of an underbody tank, like the Victoris. This will solve one key concern of existing Brezza CNG buyers- a compromised boot. On the outgoing Brezza CNG, the tanks take up significant boot space, limiting practicality.

On the design front, the facelifted Brezza will have subtle changes. These will likely be evolutionary. The front and rear bumpers will change. The front fascia will get a slightly revised grille and tweaked headlamps. The fog lamp housings will also be restyled. The SUV will likely get a thicker faux skid plate, and will ride on new 16-inch alloy wheels. The overall silhouette will remain the same as that of the outgoing model.
Inside, the new Brezza could feature a modern and upmarket design and a more extensive array of features. It could see the addition of a larger infotainment touchscreen, possibly a 10.1-inch unit. Additionally, features like wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, ventilated seats and connected car features are also likely to be included. ADAS features may also be added to the vehicle.

The sub-four metre SUV space has fierce competition within. Staying updated is critical in staying relevant. The Brezza has been consistently posting healthy monthly numbers. It remains one of Maruti’s key volume drivers, and sold around 14,500 units in the financial year 2026. The facelift will make it more relevant, more comfortable and definitely more appealing.
