Big action by Lucknow Crime Branch, smuggler arrested with high-profile OG drug, recovery of ₹ 20 lakh

Lucknow. As part of the drug-free campaign in the capital, the Crime Branch Narcotics Cell, in a major action, has arrested a smuggler with the high-profile drug OG (Ocean Grown THC/Hydroponic Weed). The value of the recovered drug in the international market is estimated to be around Rs 20 lakh.

This action was taken on the basis of confidential information received by the police on Organized Crime Helpline 7839861034. The team arrested accused Syed John from Alamnagar, Police Station Talkatora area on 23 June 2026 and recovered 300 grams of banned OG from his possession.

During the seizure, a TVS NTORQ scooter was also seized, which was being used in the supply of drugs. A case has been registered against the accused under NDPS Act and further action has been started.

During interrogation, it was revealed that this drug was brought to India illegally from Bangkok (Thailand) and was delivered to small smugglers through gaming apps and networks. The accused was an important link in this entire network. The police are now investigating to identify and arrest other people associated with this international smuggling network.
