The sweetness of Indian mangoes will strengthen relations with 82 countries!
BJP National President Nitin Naveen has sent gift boxes of specially prepared premium Indian mangoes to diplomats of 82 countries posted in New Delhi.
These boxes included four of India’s most famous mango varieties (Kesar, Dashehari, Banganapalli and Langra). All these varieties are known for their distinct taste, aroma and regional identity. This initiative seeks to highlight the diverse horticultural traditions of India and its most popular fruits loved across the world.
Along with the mangoes, Nitin Naveen also sent a personal message to the diplomats. While giving good wishes in his message, he explained the importance of mango in Indian culture. He described mango as a symbol of hospitality, friendship and India’s rich agricultural tradition.
The initiative is being seen as a form of cultural diplomacy, using mango, one of India’s most recognizable fruits, to enhance goodwill and further strengthen ties with the international diplomatic community present in the capital.
India is one of the largest producers of mango in the world. Varieties like Kesar, Dashehri, Banganapalli and Langra are very much liked not only in India but also abroad due to their excellent taste and quality.
Gir Saffron: Grown in the foothills of Girnar Mountains in Gujarat, this medium-sized mango is famous for its bright saffron pulp and extremely sweet and aromatic juice. The GI tag (Geographical Indication) received in the year 2011 has recognized and protected its special regional flavour. The real Kesar mango is recognized by its light red color and excellent sweetness.
Malihabadi Dussehri: Mango from Malihabad in Uttar Pradesh is known for its very thin peel, fiberless pulp and honey-like sweetness. The GI tag received in the year 2009 has protected its historical cultivation and its special aroma.
Banaganapalli: This famous variety of Andhra Pradesh is large in size and has a mild oval shape. Its golden yellow peel is almost without blemishes and its pulp is thick, strong and fiberless, which maintains its shape when cut.
Banarasi Langra: This unique mango variety associated with Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, remains green from outside even after ripening. The pulp inside is lemon-yellow in colour, very juicy and sweet-sour in taste. Its strong and long lasting fragrance makes it special. The GI tag received in the year 2023 has officially linked its unique taste and identity to the Banaras region.
Akhilesh himself will remain trapped in the maze of cunningness and cleverness: Naqvi!
