Monsoon gains momentum in Rajasthan, rain and storm alert issued in 25 districts

Jaipur. With the pace of monsoon increasing in Rajasthan, pre-monsoon activities have also started gaining momentum. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of storm and rain in 25 districts of the state on Thursday. During the last 24 hours, many districts of the state received good rainfall, which has provided relief to the people from the heat.

According to the Meteorological Department report, many districts including Bharatpur, Jaipur, Nagaur, Sikar and Sriganganagar received rainfall of one inch or more on Wednesday. At the same time, the effect of heat continued in some parts of western Rajasthan. Sriganganagar was the hottest district of the state, where the maximum temperature was 42.5 degrees Celsius.

There was light cloud cover throughout the day in the districts of Jaipur, Bharatpur, Ajmer, Kota, Bikaner and Udaipur divisions and the effect of humidity was felt. There was also rain and drizzle in many areas in the evening.

After Sriganganagar in the state, the temperature was measured at 42 degrees Celsius in Phalodi, 40.7 in Jaisalmer, 40.4 in Bikaner, 40.3 in Barmer and 40.2 degrees Celsius in Chittorgarh. The temperature was 39.3 degrees Celsius in Pali, 39.2 in Jodhpur and Dausa, while 38 degrees Celsius in Jalore and Hanumangarh.

In Bharatpur district, there was 40 mm rainfall in Kaman, 15 mm in Pahari and 8 mm in Deeg. Ladnun in Nagaur received 47 mm rainfall, while Kekri in Ajmer district received 11 mm rainfall and Savar received 16 mm rainfall. There was 31 mm of rain in Ringas of Sikar, 36 mm of rain in Dablirathan of Hanumangarh and 26 mm of rain in Lalgarh Jatan of Sriganganagar.

Light to moderate rain also occurred in many areas of Bikaner, Jhunjhunu, Alwar, Baran, Jhalawar and Chittorgarh. According to meteorologists, rainfall activities may increase further in the eastern and northern parts of the state in the coming days.

Due to this, the temperature is likely to drop and people will get relief from the scorching heat. However, the effect of heat and humidity may persist in some western districts.
