Student dies after being hit by tanker, villagers block Prayagraj road, long queue of vehicles

Mirzapur. In a road accident on Saturday morning near Ashtabhuja Toll Plaza in Vindhyachal police station area, 11-year-old student Yashwant died on the spot after being hit by a tanker. After the incident, angry villagers blocked the Prayagraj Mirzapur road, leading to long queues of vehicles for about 2 kilometers.

According to the information, Yashwant, studying in class 5, was going to school on a bicycle. Meanwhile, a speeding tanker hit him. After falling on the road, he got hit by the wheel of a tanker due to which he died on the spot. Yashwant was the only child of his parents. As soon as the information about the incident was received, there was mourning in the family.

Angered by the accident, the villagers completely disrupted traffic on Prayagraj Mirzapur road by placing iron gutters on the road. As soon as we saw this, there was a traffic jam of about 2 kilometers long. Due to the scorching heat, long queues of vehicles formed due to which the passengers had to face problems for hours.

On receiving information about the incident, Vindhyachal police station reached the spot and tried to convince the villagers. Police officials assured strict action against the guilty driver and all possible assistance to the victim’s family. The tanker driver had fled leaving the vehicle, which has been seized by the police.

Till the time of writing the news, talks were going on between the police and the villagers and efforts were being made to clear the jam. The police have started investigating the cause of the accident and searching for the tanker driver.
