Pushkara, My Sweet Housewife Win Best Film at Odisha State Film Awards 2023; Ashram Tops 2024 Honours

Odisha’s Culture Minister Surjyabanshi Suraj announced the State Film Awards for 2023 and 2024 on Thursday, celebrating excellence in Odia cinema. Pushkara and My Sweet Housewife shared the Best Film honour for 2023, while Ashram won the top award for 2024.


The Tarang-produced Pushkara received the Best Film award for 2023, with actress Supriya named Best Actress for her performance. Naina Das earned the Best Supporting Actress award for My Sweet Housewifeand veteran actor Harihar Mahapatra won Best Actor for Dhore Babu Dhore.

The film Mo Bou Mo Gaon received the award for Best Documentary, while filmmaker Shyamalendu Bhattacharya was honoured with the Mohan Sundar Dev Goswami Award for his contribution to Odia cinema.

For 2024, Ashram was declared Best Film, with Babushan Mohanty winning Best Actor for Pabar and Debyani Dehuria named Best Actress for Blessed Bharija.

Minister Suraj said the awards recognise the creative talent and dedication of Odia filmmakers and artists who continue to enrich the state’s cultural identity through cinema. The announcement has sparked excitement among film enthusiasts and industry professionals.
