CM Yogi’s announcement: Cashless health facility of Rs 5 lakh per year will soon be provided to ‘democracy fighters’

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said that the state government will soon provide cashless health facility of Rs 5 lakh per year for the ‘democracy fighters’ who save democracy. The Chief Minister made this announcement at a program organized in Lucknow on the occasion of ‘Samvidhan Hatiya Diwas’, the 51st anniversary of the Emergency.

Wished for healthy and long life of ‘democracy fighters’

Wishing good health and long life to the ‘democracy fighters’, CM Yogi said that he felt proud while honoring the ‘democracy fighters’ today. The ‘democracy fighters’ endured the tortures of jail to save democracy, hence when a government dedicated to democratic values ​​came to power in the state, the program was taken forward to honor the ‘democracy fighters’.

3,780 ‘democracy fighters’ and 1,461 their dependents in the state

There are 3,780 ‘Loktantra Senani’ and 1,461 their dependents in the state. Since 2018, the government has been giving an honorarium of Rs 20,000 every month to ‘democracy fighters’ and their dependents after death. Also, ‘Loktantra Senani’ or his heir (husband or wife) along with one assistant has been provided the facility of free travel in all classes of buses of the Transport Corporation in the entire state. Free medical treatment is also being provided to ‘democracy fighters’ in government hospitals.

After the demise of the democracy fighter, his last rites were also performed with state honours.

CM Yogi said that now the government is also going to provide cashless health facility of Rs 5 lakh every year to the democracy fighters. He said that along with this, after the demise of the democracy fighter, arrangements are being made by the government to perform his last rites with state honours. The coming generation will always keep in mind that whoever works in the interest of the country and democracy, the governments will honor them.

During the program, Chief Minister Adityanath honored ‘democracy fighters’. This included ‘democracy fighters’ Bharat Dixit, Gaya Prasad Sonkar, Ram Singh Kushwaha (Hardoi), Vidya Ram Verma (Hardoi), Ajay Singh (Barabanki) and Om Prakash Gupta (Sitapur), who spent six months in jail.

During this, democracy fighter Bharat Dixit said, ‘There was no reason to impose emergency. Congress just wanted to remain in power by any means. During the Emergency, our clothes were torn at the time of our arrest. Even after this, we participated in Satyagraha, when a lot of atrocities were committed.

Democracy fighter Vidya Ram Verma said, ‘Even after so many years, I get emotional when I think about the Emergency. Except CPI, all other parties were tortured. My house was surrounded at night, as if they had come to arrest a dacoit. In the jail, nails of prisoners were pulled out and forced sterilization was done. Today no one can even realize what atrocities the government of that time committed.
