IMD issues alert of heavy rain in 11 states including Bihar, warning of thunderstorm in many areas including Delhi

New Delhi, June 25. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued the latest weather bulletin for Friday, June 26 amid favorable monsoon conditions in many parts of the country. Under this, there is an alert of heavy to very heavy rain in more than 11 states including Bihar. At the same time, warning of strong storm and thunderstorm with speed of 50 to 60 km per hour has also been issued in many plain areas including Delhi-NCR, Haryana and Punjab.

Very heavy rain: There is a strong possibility of extremely heavy rainfall over isolated parts of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.

States with heavy rain: Heavy rain alert has been issued at isolated places in Bihar, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Coastal Karnataka.

Delhi-Storm with speed of 60 km/hr in NCR and these states

According to the Meteorological Department, on June 26, storms, lightning and strong winds will be seen in many parts of the country. There is a possibility of severe thunderstorm with speed of 50 to 60 km per hour in Bihar, East Rajasthan and Western Madhya Pradesh.

There is a possibility of strong winds with a speed of 40-50 km per hour and thunderstorms in Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh (East and West), Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Jharkhand, Odisha, East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Ganga plains, West Bengal and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.

Winds can blow at a speed of 30 to 40 km per hour in parts of Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep and Telangana. Strong surface winds are expected in coastal and interior Karnataka areas.

Heat wave outbreak in UP and Jharkhand

At the same time, the heat wave is expected to continue in some states. Severe heat wave conditions will persist in different areas of Eastern UP on June 26. The temperature in north-west India may increase by 2-3°C by June 28. Only after this there is hope of relief. Heat wave warning has also been issued in different parts of Jharkhand on June 26.

According to IMD, the Northern Limit of South-West Monsoon (NLM) is currently passing through Surat, Indore, Mandla, Daltonganj and Motihari. Conditions remain completely favorable for the advance of Monsoon into North Arabian Sea, some more parts of Gujarat, remaining parts of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar and parts of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand within three to four days.
