Emphasis on promoting CSR investment

The Chief Minister urged the corporate companies to contribute to the long-term development through CSR projects in Nagaland. He said that CSR is not just a medium to fulfill social responsibility, but it also provides an opportunity to bring real and lasting change in the lives of communities.

He said that the local people will get direct benefits of investment in areas like education, health services, skill development, women empowerment and rural livelihood. Along with this, the corporate sector will also get positive results in the form of social impact and long-term partnerships.

The Chief Minister made it clear that the State Government welcomes all efforts that promote inclusive and sustainable development.

Partnership will be easier with single-window platform

The Government of Nagaland has also made special arrangements to facilitate investment and CSR projects. The Chief Minister informed that the Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) has set up a dedicated single-window platform to facilitate CSR partnerships.

The platform aims to make coordination, monitoring and implementation of projects more effective. Through this, it will be easier for investors and development organizations to coordinate with various government departments.

The Chief Minister said that this system will promote transparency, accountability and efficiency, so that the benefits of the projects will reach the people on time.

A call to invest in people and potential

Neiphiu Rio asked the corporate world and development agencies to invest not only in projects but also in people and their capabilities. He said that human resource development is the cornerstone of long-term progress of any state.

The Chief Minister said that Nagaland can be given new dimensions of development by promoting skill development, innovation, startup culture, entrepreneurship and community leadership. He stressed that providing opportunities to the local youth will give a new impetus to the state’s economy.

According to him, social development and economic development complement each other and comprehensive change is possible only with balanced investment in both the areas.

Discussion on possibilities of cooperation in various fields

The ‘Nagaland Connect 2026’ event was attended by corporate representatives, CSR experts, officials from development institutions and policy makers from across the country. Topics related to education, health, livelihood, environmental sustainability, social development and infrastructure were discussed during the programme.

The participants deliberated on how effective development models can be created in the state by combining government schemes and private sector expertise. Such collaboration will not only benefit local communities, but development projects will also have a more widespread and lasting impact.

Nagaland’s growing role in the development of North-East India

Experts believe that Nagaland can play an important role in the development of Northeast India. Better connectivity, tourism potential, biodiversity and young population make the state attractive for investment.

The state government’s initiative signals that Nagaland wants to move beyond the traditional aid model to a partnership-based development model. This can give a new direction to employment, social development and economic activities in the state.
