New Delhi: Former President Pranab Mukherjee’s daughter and well-known writer Sharmistha Mukherjee has made a very interesting and big revelation about Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Sharmistha Mukherjee has shared the views of her late father Pranab Mukherjee regarding the 2014 Lok Sabha elections and PM Modi’s candidature. While talking to news agency ANI, he told that in today’s changing global and geo-political environment, PM Modi has worked to give a very strong and stable leadership to the country.

When the country expressed confidence in a new face for the first time

Sharmistha Mukherjee told that she had recently written an article, which was published in many Hindi and regional newspapers. In that article, he had shared his father’s words while referring to the historic elections of 2014. He said that this was the first time in the history of Lok Sabha elections that a completely new face was directly declared the Prime Ministerial candidate. Generally, in Congress or other parties, it is believed that the one who is leading the previous government will become the Prime Minister again. But in 2014, Narendra Modi emerged as a new face. It seemed as if the people of the country had not just elected BJP or its party, but had directly elected Narendra Modi as their Prime Minister to lead the country. This was a very unique thing in Indian politics and his father Pranab Mukherjee also felt the same.

First time MP and direct Prime Minister of the country

Sharmistha termed it as unprecedented that although Narendra Modi had been in politics for a long time and had made a special identity for himself as the Chief Minister of Gujarat, 2014 was his first Lok Sabha election. This was perhaps the first time in the history of India that a person was directly entering the Parliament House as the Prime Minister after becoming an MP. Sharmistha told that because of this uniqueness, when Narendra Modi came to meet her father and then President Pranab Mukherjee after winning the elections, Pranab da told her a very special thing. He had told Modi ji, “This mandate is not just for your party, but it is also a mandate for you personally, so now your responsibility is bigger than ever.”

The country got a stable government amid global turmoil.

Referring to the changing global situation, Sharmistha Mukherjee said that PM Modi has been completely successful in giving a strong and stable government to the country. Today, when there is an environment of geopolitical uncertainty in the whole world and many countries are going through crisis, at such a time it is very important for India to have a strong central government and a powerful leadership. He clearly said that Narendra Modi has proved to be the right person to lead India at this very important juncture of world politics.

Modi is one of the strongest Prime Ministers of independent India

Sharmistha Mukherjee said without any hesitation that there should be no competition on who did what for the country. No person or government can be 100% perfect, but everyone tried their sincerely and took India to new heights. He said that it is the job of the opposition to find shortcomings and criticize the government, which is absolutely right in a democracy. But any government can be properly evaluated only after some time has passed. He stressed that Narendra Modi is one of the strongest Prime Ministers of independent India, who has given a stable government to the country.

Targeted at the compulsions of UPA government and alliance

Reminding the old governments, Sharmistha Mukherjee said that during UPA-1 and UPA-2, the entire country saw how many ups and downs there are in coalition politics. The biggest problem at that time was that the allies kept threatening the government with their demands, due to which the government was not able to take any tough policy decision in the interest of the country. But Modi government ended that instability. Today, amidst the ongoing turmoil around the world, India needed a strong government, and PM Modi has provided the same stability to the country.
