Youngest international debut, Vaibhav Suryavanshi on the threshold of creating history

The 2nd T20 match between India and Ireland starts tomorrow (26th June). The first match of the series will be played in Belfast from 6 pm. Young sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi can start his international career through this match. It is not easy to fit 15-year-old Vaibhav in the playing XI, because the pair of Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma will have to be broken. If Vaibhav is given a chance to debut then Sanju may be rested or pushed back to the middle order.

Immediately after the Ireland tour, Team India has to go to England, where it will play a 5-match T20 series against the host team. Keeping this big series in mind, if the Indian team management rests some senior players against Ireland, then there will be room for Vaibhav. Vaibhav, who is making a splash in the A-Team Tri Series held in Sri Lanka after IPL 2026, is standing on the threshold of creating history. He will become the youngest Indian player to debut in international cricket.

Sachin’s decades old record will be destroyed

Shefali Verma holds the record for playing international cricket at the youngest age for India. Women’s team’s explosive opener Shefali made her international debut in 2019 at the age of 15 years and 239 days. Talking about male players, this record is in the name of Sachin Tendulkar. Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar started his international career in 1989 at the age of 16 years and 205 days.

Vaibhav’s age is only 15 years and 90 days. As soon as he debuts against Ireland, he will break Sachin’s decades old record as well as Shefali’s record. Even if he is not played against Ireland, he will still have a chance to become the youngest Indian debutant for more than the next 4 months.
