The last T20 match between India and Ireland was played at the Nassau County Stadium in New York on June 5 during the T20 World Cup 2024. In that match, Team India defeated Ireland by 8 wickets. The Irish team could not even manage to score 100 runs. In that match, Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bowl first and then the bowlers restricted the Irish team to 96 runs in 16 overs. In that match, Hardik Pandya took maximum 3 wickets, while Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh took 2-2 wickets.

Rohit had scored a half-century, Kohli’s bat did not work

The Indian team had easily achieved the target of 97 runs in 12.2 overs. Captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli did the opening. Although Virat could not do anything special and returned to the pavilion after scoring only one run in 5 balls, but Rohit Sharma batted brilliantly and scored 52 runs in 37 balls and then he retired hurt. Whereas Rishabh Pant gave an easy victory to the team by playing an inning of 36 runs in 26 balls.

Jasprit Bumrah became the player of the match

Hardik Pandya took the most wickets in that match. However, the Player of the Match award was given to Jasprit Bumrah, because Bumrah bowled brilliantly with very good economy. Bumrah bowled lethally in his 3 overs and took 2 important wickets for just 6 runs, while Hardik Pandya took the maximum of 3 wickets for 27 runs in his 4 over spell.

Team India will field for the first time under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer.

Now after 2 years, Team India will play T20 match against Ireland. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have retired from T20 International, so both the veteran players are not a part of this series. However, this series is important for Team India, because for the first time the Indian team will play T20 under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer. In such a situation, everyone’s eyes are going to be on Iyer.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi is standing on the threshold of creating history

Apart from Shreyas Iyer, if everyone’s eyes are going to be on any player then it is 15 year old young batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi. There is a possibility that he may get a chance to debut in this series. If this happens, Vaibhav will become the youngest player to play international cricket for India. He will break Sachin Tendulkar’s 37 year old record. Now it remains to be seen whether Vaibhav creates this history or not.
