Aaqib Nabi shines in Team India’s jersey, wreaks havoc against Sri Lanka
Thanks to the sharp bowling of Aaqib Nabi, India-A has taken a lead of 122 runs by reducing Sri Lanka-A’s innings to 330 runs in the first unofficial test. India-A declared its first total at 452/8 thanks to century innings from captain Dhruv Jurel (141 not out) and Sai Sudarshan (132). In reply, by the stumps on the second day (26 June), Sri Lanka-A had scored 113 runs at the loss of 2 wickets.
Today (27th June) i.e. on the third day of the match, Sri Lanka-A extended its innings strongly and reached 300 runs after losing 5 wickets. She seemed to be gaining the lead but Aaqib Nabi wreaked such havoc that she was all out by the time she reached 330 runs. Aaqib took 4 wickets for 58 runs in 19.4 overs. Yash Thakur and Harsh Dubey got 2 successes each. Anshul Kamboj and Saransh Jain took 1-1 wicket.

Sri Lankan innings fell apart like a pack of cards
In this match being played at the Galle International Stadium, Sri Lanka-A gave a befitting reply to India-A, thanks to the half-centuries of Nuwanidu Fernando (84), Ashen Bandara (70) and captain Sahan Arachchige (72). Harsh Dubey took the big wicket of Arachchi. After this Aaqib wreaked havoc. Bandara was led by Saransh Jain. Aaqib took 3 wickets at consecutive intervals and reduced Sri Lanka A’s innings to 330 runs.

Aaqib has more than 100 wickets in his name in the last two Ranji seasons.
Aaqib, a right-arm fast bowler coming from Jammu and Kashmir, has taken 104 wickets in 18 matches in the last two Ranji seasons. He made Jammu and Kashmir the champion by taking more than 60 wickets in the 2025-26 Ranji season. He has also shown his talent in Duleep Trophy. Now after impressing with the red ball in Sri Lanka, he has again knocked on the door of Team India.
