Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep grief over the tragic accident that occurred when a three-storey warehouse under construction collapsed in Taratala area of ​​Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal. So far, eight laborers have been confirmed dead in this horrific accident, while many others are said to be injured.

Prime Minister Modi issued a condolence message on the social media platform ‘X’ and expressed condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the accident. He said that this incident is very sad and in this difficult time the entire country stands with the families of the victims.

The Prime Minister has announced financial assistance of Rs 2-2 lakh to the families of the deceased and Rs 50-50 thousand to the injured from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF).

He said that relief and rescue operations are going on continuously and all possible assistance is being provided to the affected people.

There was a stir due to the collapse of a warehouse under construction.
On Wednesday afternoon, a three-storey warehouse under construction on the land of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Port in Taratala area suddenly collapsed. A large number of laborers were working there at the time of the accident, due to which many people got buried under the debris.

After the incident, police, fire department and disaster relief teams reached the spot and started the rescue operation. During the hours-long rescue operation, many workers were pulled out, while eight people died.

Relief work continues-
The administration says that the work of removing the debris is going on and it is being ensured that no person remains trapped inside. The investigation into the cause of the accident has also been started.

Prime Minister Modi assured that the Central and State governments together will provide all possible assistance to the affected families.
