Ghaziabad: The young man returned alive during the thirteenth, whose last rites took place? Big revelation in police investigation

Such a filmy and shocking case has come to light from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, which has shocked the police administration, law and order and local people. The person whom the family had considered dead and performed his last rites and for whose soul a ‘Terahavi’ feast was being held at home, suddenly returned alive at midnight to his home. After this incident, while on one hand there is a mixed atmosphere of happiness and fear in the family, on the other hand a big puzzle has arisen before the Ghaziabad Police as to whose body it was that was cremated.

Went to jail after dispute, then went missing

This whole strange story starts from Kalpana apartment of Vaishali. Girdhar Singh Bisht, 38, who lives here, had a dispute with local shopkeepers over some issue on May 16, 2026. As the matter escalated, Kaushambi police station arrested Girdhar under Section 151 (CrPC) on suspicion of disturbing peace and sent him to Dasna jail. After this, on 21 May 2026, Girdhar Singh Bisht was released from jail. But after release he did not reach his home. When a lot of time passed, worried family members started searching for him and lodged a missing complaint with the police.

Allegations of mistaken identity, negligence

While the search for Girdhar was going on, on June 13, 2026, the police found an unidentified unclaimed body in the Mussoorie police station area of Ghaziabad. When the police informed Girdhar’s family, the upset family members reached the spot. Seeing the condition of the body or in a hurry, the family members identified the body as that of Girdhar Singh Bisht. There was chaos in the family after the dead body was found. The angry family members created a ruckus at the Kaushambi police station and made serious allegations of negligence on the part of the police. The family members alleged that Girdhar had been murdered. Seeing the increasing pressure, the police registered a murder case (FIR) against unknown people in Mussoorie police station. After this, the family members also cremated the dead body as per religious rituals.

Entry on the night of ‘Thirteenth’

The biggest twist of the story came when Girdhar’s death was being mourned at home. After the last rites, as per rules, ‘Terhavi’ program was going on at home on the night of 25th June 2026. Meanwhile, suddenly Girdhar Singh Bisht himself came and stood at the door of his house. Seeing him standing alive in front of them, the ground slipped under the feet of the family and society members. For some moments people thought it was a ghost or an illusion. But when Girdhar told the whole story, everyone was surprised.

Why did Girdhar leave?

After returning home, Girdhar told that he was angry with the family over some issue. After being released from jail, his mind became disturbed and he went to a satsang in Punjab without informing anyone. After returning from there, he had no idea what had happened back in his house. In this case, a statement of Girdhar’s sister Asha Bisht has also come to light, which she had given to the media at the time of finding her brother’s body. Asha Bisht had said that when the brother was released from jail, we had gone to take him. Then it came to light that some unknown person had taken him away with him. He had directly alleged that a person named ‘Tyagi’ and some other people together had murdered his brother. The sister had also described the role of the local police in this entire matter as suspicious.

The family may have heaved a sigh of relief with Girdhar Singh Bisht’s return alive, but it has raised many serious questions on our investigation system. The first question was whose body was cremated? Also, why did the police and forensics not do proper identification tests like DNA test or fingerprints? Giving an official statement on this entire matter, Indirapuram ACP Abhishek Srivastava said that a missing report of Girdhar was registered in Mussoorie police station. The body found during investigation was identified by the family members themselves as Girdhar, after which post-mortem was conducted and the body was handed over to them. Now after Girdhar returned alive on June 25, the police have taken relief, but the matter has become complicated. The ACP has assured that now a fresh investigation into this matter has been started.
