Pune Murder Case: Police Recreate Ketan Agarwal’s Death at Lohagad Fort With Siya Goyal, Same-Weight Dummy Used

Police on Sunday recreated the sequence of events surrounding the alleged murder of Pune businessman Ketan Vishal Agarwal at Lohagad Fort, taking accused Siya Goyal to the crime scene as part of the ongoing investigation.

Investigators also used a dummy matching Agarwal’s weight to verify the claims made during questioning and reconstruct how the incident allegedly unfolded.

Crime Scene Reconstruction Conducted

According to Pune Rural Superintendent of Police Sandeep Singh Gill, investigators reconstructed the entire sequence of events at Lohagad Fort.

The exercise included retracing the route allegedly taken by the accused, identifying their positions at the location and recreating the events leading up to Agarwal’s fall.

Police said Siya Goyal assisted investigators by explaining the route, the positions of those present and her version of how the incident occurred.

Same-Weight Dummy Used During Investigation

Deputy Superintendent of Police Gajanan Tompe said investigators prepared a dummy weighing the same as Ketan Agarwal.

The dummy was used to examine whether the sequence described during the investigation matched the physical evidence collected from the crime scene.

Officials said the reconstruction is intended to verify statements made during the investigation and understand the circumstances surrounding Agarwal’s death.

Investigation Focuses on Evidence and Alleged Conspiracy

Police are examining multiple aspects of the case, including the movements of the accused before and after the incident, digital evidence and the alleged planning of the crime.

Investigators are also verifying various pieces of evidence collected during the probe to establish the sequence of events.

Background of the Case

Ketan Agarwal, 25, was a director in his family’s warehouse development business in Maharashtra.

He became engaged to Siya Goyal, 20, in February this year, and their wedding was scheduled for November.

According to police, Ketan died after falling from Lohagad Fort on June 18.

Following the investigation, police arrested Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary on charges of murder and criminal conspiracy under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Police have alleged that Siya told investigators she did not want to proceed with the marriage and, along with Chetan, planned the crime because she feared cancelling the wedding would bring disrepute to her family.

The allegations remain part of the ongoing police investigation, and the case is yet to be decided by a court.
