‘Never met Kohli…,’ Novak Djokovic said on friendship with Virat
The friendship between Serbian tennis legends Novak Djokovic and Virat Kohli is not hidden from anyone. During Wimbledon, Djokovic said that we have never met but have been in touch through messages for the last few years. Djokovic, who is seeking his 25th Grand Slam title, revealed that he is planning to visit India and may also have a meeting with Kohli.
Djokovic said during Wimbledon, ‘We have never met in person but have been in touch through messages for the last few years. We have followed each other’s journey, supported each other and appreciated what we have achieved in our respective careers.

Meeting with Kohli will be special
Djokovic further said, ‘I hope that we will get a chance to meet someday, play some tennis and maybe play some cricket. This will be really very special. I am also planning to come to India soon, so maybe we can meet there.

Djokovic had earlier also expressed his desire to meet the Indian legend. Djokovic had said during the 2026 Laureus World Sports Awards that it was because of Kohli that he started watching cricket. At that time also he had talked about coming to India.
Djokovic had said during that award ceremony, ‘Yes Virat is a friend and someone I respect. Honestly, he is the reason I started following cricket. Earlier I did not follow cricket but because of Kohli I started watching it. We keep in touch. Hopefully he will join me when I come to India. We will play some cricket and some tennis, have fun and spread positive energy while celebrating the game.
