French heat wave: While the scorching heat in France has made life difficult for people, it has also become a disaster for the speaking people. According to reports, the heat has caused major damage to the country’s poultry farms. During this rainy season, the temperature in many parts of the country increased so much that lakhs of chickens could not bear the heat and they died. The situation has become such that even the pressure on the services that collect dead birds has increased. Scientists say that along with global warming, weather events like El Nino may also play a role in the increasing dangerous heat in many parts of the world.

According to reports, two major poultry-producing regions of France, Brittany and Pays de la Loire, have been most affected. These two areas together produce about 60 percent of the poultry population of France.

According to poultry organizations, several lakh chickens have died so far. However, the final figure has not been revealed yet. Some farmers say that while one or two birds used to die on regular days, this summer hundreds of chickens died within a few days.

Usually, dead animals and birds are taken to special centres, but this time the number of deaths is so high that the pressure on the entire system has increased.
