Water, Hygiene Facilities Cut-Off: CJP chief Dipke targets Delhi police as Wangchuk begins hunger strike; video here

New Delhi: Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke on Sunday alleged that Delhi Police had cut off sanitation facilities at Jantar Mantar soon after climate activist and education reformer Sonam Wangchuk began his hunger strike at the protest site.

In a post on X, Dipke claimed that there was “no water connection and hygiene measures” available for protesters. He further alleged that despite repeated requests and concerns raised over Wangchuk’s age and health, the police were not cooperating.

Concern Over Wangchuk’s Health

Dipke said the protesters feared that other basic facilities could also be withdrawn. His remarks came on the day Wangchuk began his hunger strike at Jantar Mantar in support of the ongoing CJP-led protest.

Wangchuk, known for his work in education reform, climate action and Ladakh-related issues, has joined the protest to press for accountability in the education system. The protest has been centered around demands linked to alleged examination irregularities and the call for Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation.

CJP Protest Focuses On Education Accountability

The CJP-led protest has been centered around demands for accountability in alleged examination irregularities and the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Protesters have been raising questions over exam transparency, student distress and the government’s handling of education-related controversies.

Dipke’s latest allegation over sanitation and water facilities has added another flashpoint to the agitation. Protesters say access to water, toilets and hygiene facilities is a basic requirement, particularly when a hunger strike is underway and elderly participants or vulnerable supporters are present at the site.

As the hunger strike continues, the focus is now not only on CJP’s political demands but also on the conditions under which protesters are being allowed to continue their demonstration. The coming hours may determine whether the standoff escalates further or whether authorities respond to the concerns raised by Dipke and other protesters.
