Big action by UP Police in Ram Mandir donation theft case, raid on the premises of 8 accused created panic

Ram Mandir Row: Uttar Pradesh Police has taken the biggest action so far in the case of alleged misappropriation of donations for the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya, UP. The police team investigating this entire case has simultaneously raided the locations of all the 8 named accused related to the case. This sudden action has created a stir in the area. The police conducted extensive searches of the houses of the accused and interrogated their family members for hours and recorded their statements.

Jewelery and cash found from Tinnu’s house

Different police teams raided the residence of Ram Shankar Yadav alias Tinnu, one of the main accused in this case. During the search, the police recovered some valuable jewelery and important documents from Tinnu’s house. Along with this, some cash and documents related to properties have also been recovered. The police is preparing a list of all these found items. By evening, a complete assessment will be made as to how much total recovery has been done. After this, at night the police will decide whether police remand of the accused should be sought from the court or not.

Police patrolling ancestral homes

Under this action, police activity remained intense in Milkipur rural area also. Police raided the ancestral homes of two other accused in the case, Anukalp Mishra and Lavkush Mishra. Apart from this, the police team also reached the residence of another investigator Ramashankar Mishra. The police interrogated Ramashankar Mishra’s family members for a long time. According to information received from sources, some documents have also been found from Ramashankar’s house which can prove to be very important in connecting the links of this donation theft case.

Responsibility was handed over to SIT

This entire controversy of embezzlement in Ram Temple donations came to light in the month of June, when opposition party leader Tej Narayan Pawan Pandey had made a big claim. He had alleged that a huge amount of money ranging from Rs 5 crore to Rs 7.5 crore had been missing from the offerings made by the devotees in the temple. After the controversy escalated and the request of the Temple Trust, the Uttar Pradesh government, considering the seriousness of the matter, constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) on June 13. The SIT conducted the initial investigation while staying in Ayodhya and found that there had indeed been major irregularities in the management of donations.

Crackdown on 8 named people

On the basis of this initial report of the SIT, a named FIR was registered against a total of 8 people under stringent sections of the Indian Justice Code and the Prevention of Corruption Act. Showing promptness in this case, the police have made Ram Shankar Yadav alias Tinnu, Avinash Shukla, Anukalp Mishra, Lavkush Mishra, Subhash Srivastava, Ramashankar Mishra, Manish Yadav and Karunesh Pandey accused. Some of these accused are said to be relatives among themselves, who were associated with the temple system in some way or the other.

Big statement of Ram Mandir Trust

Ram Mandir Trust has also broken its silence on this entire matter and has assured the devotees of the country and the world. The Trust has issued a statement saying that it is committed to conducting a fair and completely transparent investigation into this matter. Trust officials say that they are extremely hurt and saddened by whatever has come to light in the last few days. The Trust has assured the people that necessary and strict changes will be made in the temple management to prevent any such irregularities in future.
