Read, Digital Desk : Devdutt Padikkal hit a composed half-century in India A’s second innings on Sunday after the first Test against Sri Lanka A ended in a draw on the fourth and final day due to bad weather. India A resumed their second innings at 48 for no loss and Padikkal made 67 off 101 balls with the help of five fours.
Ayush Pandey (38) and Harsh Dubey (29) also contributed as India A declared their second innings at 189 for eight in 57 overs, setting a target of 312 for Sri Lanka A. Left-arm spinner Dilum Sudira took five wickets for 49 runs in India A’s second innings.

Chasing this target, Sri Lanka A scored 70 runs for the loss of two wickets in 15 overs. However, play was halted for a considerable time due to rain. In Sri Lanka A’s second innings, opener Pawantha Weerasinghe scored 10 runs, Nuwanindu Fernando remained unbeaten on 16 runs, and Ashen Bandara remained unbeaten on 18 runs.
Jammu and Kashmir fast bowler Aaqib Nabi, who took four wickets for 58 runs in the first innings for India A, took one wicket for 18 runs, and Harsh Dubey took one wicket for 25 runs. The second unofficial Test match of the series between the two teams will be played in Galle, Sri Lanka, from July 2 to 5.
