Akhilesh should clarify his stand on Shri Krishna’s birthplace: CM Yogi’s challenge from Hathras, said – speak openly on Mathura-Vrindavan

Hathras, 28 June. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday asked Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav to clarify his stand on the Sri Krishna Janmabhoomi issue. Yogi challenged Akhilesh and said that if he is trying to become religious then now he should also speak about Mathura. Amid the ongoing investigation into alleged manipulation of Ram temple offerings, Akhilesh had on Saturday said that people’s faith has been tampered with and if his party comes to power, he will develop Ayodhya as an “unmatched” religious and holy city.

While addressing a meeting in Hathras, Yogi taunted by taking the name of the SP chief, “Akhilesh ji, Ayodhya was beautified by Ram devotees. You talk about Mathura. If you are really trying to call yourself religious, then speak openly on Mathura-Vrindavan, speak openly on Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi. Also say that the campaign for the liberation of Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi should be run on the lines of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mukti Movement.”

He said, “The birthplace of Lord Shri Krishna should also be respected. Our government is providing facilities but you (Akhilesh) do not have the courage because you have not put forward any agenda for the development of the state except kneeling before one class.” Yogi stressed, “The matter should be about the upliftment of Ayodhya, Mathura and Kashi and strengthening their mythological identity. Do not do the work of gathering dust. Ayodhya is not dependent on you for its identity.”

He said, “Ayodhya has its own identity and has created its own unique identity in the world.” The Chief Minister said, “Akhilesh Yadav was saying in a statement that if his government comes, it will make Ayodhya a religious city. Hey, what religious city will you make? Look at your history. It was your own people who opened fire on Ram devotees. It was your own Samajwadi Party government that opened fire.” He said, “You (Akhilesh) have forgotten that you had even stopped organizing Shri Krishna Janmashtami in police stations and jails. Banned Kanwar Yatra. When our public representatives were saying that more than 22 temples were beautified in Hathras, was this possible during the SP regime? This was not possible during their time.”

Former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, after attending a wedding ceremony in Azamgarh on Saturday, had told reporters that the alleged theft of offerings from the Ram temple in Ayodhya was condemnable and a matter of concern. Akhilesh said, “After the news of embezzlement in donations, the government came under pressure and formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT). However, this raises the question as to why the SIT report has been handed over to a particular person only.”
