The foreign ministers of Turkey and Egypt were also present in this meeting, where everyone shared their views on the security and peace of the region.

‘Islamabad Agreement’ between America and Iran

During the meeting, all the ministers welcomed the ‘Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding’ (MoU) signed between the US and Iran on June 17, 2026. The main objective of this agreement is to end the enmity between the two countries and to make a comprehensive deal in the coming 60 days.

  • Military action stopped: Both countries have agreed to immediately stop military operations.
  • Trade route: The movement of merchant ships through the Strait of Hormuz will resume.
  • Oil Export: Immediate relief will be given to the sanctions imposed on Iran’s oil exports.
  • Reconstruction Fund: There is a proposal to make a plan of 300 billion dollars for the development of Iran.

Pakistan played a very important role in getting this historic agreement done. R4 countries and Saudi Arabia highly praised the efforts of Pakistan and Qatar for this work. A high-level meeting was also held in Bergenstock, Switzerland on June 21 to implement the agreement, which included representatives of the US, Iran, Pakistan and Qatar.

Although this agreement is a good start, many issues still remain. Talks will continue regarding Iran’s nuclear program and the security of Gulf countries. The agreement was also supported in the US and GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) meeting held in Manama on June 25, 2026, but emphasis was placed on preventing the threat of Iran acquiring nuclear weapons.
