PM Modi said in ‘Mann Ki Baat’… Campaign of not buying gold and saving petrol paid off, people are sending messages

digital desk- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday addressed the 135th episode of his monthly radio program ‘Mann Ki Baat’. During this, he openly discussed the ground impact of his special appeals made to the countrymen amid the global crisis. PM Modi said, “I am grateful to every citizen of the country that they have not only supported my appeal but are also cooperating in it.” He said that many families of the country have shared their unique and positive experiences with him, which makes it clear that the country is moving forward with unity in this period of crisis.

‘Will only recycle old gold in weddings’, people changed their decisions

PM Modi said that amid the global crisis caused by the Iran-America-Israel war, he had recently appealed to the public to save petrol and diesel for some time, do car pooling and not buy new gold for a year. Referring to the impact of this appeal, the PM said, “Many families have sent messages saying that they have decided that they will not buy new gold this time for their wedding. If needed, they will recycle the old gold and make new jewellery.”

Enthusiasm also shown regarding car pooling and natural farming

Apart from gold, talking about the fuel saving campaign, PM Modi said that many people have shared with him great experiences of car pooling. People traveling in the same direction in different vehicles are now traveling together to save resources and fuel. Along with this, the PM also expressed his gratitude to the farmers who have accepted his request for chemical-free farming and maximum use of natural fertilizers to save their fields. He also reiterated that people are avoiding holidaying abroad in this period.

3 new warships joined the Navy’s fleet, expressed pride on self-reliance

Referring to the country’s security and self-reliance in ‘Mann Ki Baat’, PM Modi expressed pride in the major defense achievements made in the month of June. He said, “Recently I had the opportunity to attend a Naval event in Kolkata, where INS Dunagiri, INS Modhik and INS Agray were commissioned into the Indian Naval Fleet. These achievements tell the story of our self-reliance while making the country’s security impenetrable.”
