A special meeting and delegation level talks took place between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Seychelles President Dr. Patrick Herminy at the State House in Victoria, the capital of Seychelles. In this meeting, both the leaders not only talked about their mutual relations, but also resolved to jointly tackle major challenges like security of the Indian Ocean region, problem of illegal fishing, drug smuggling and piracy. A special logo was also released to commemorate the completion of 50 years of friendship between the two countries.

India will give big help of Rs 1,250 crore

Prime Minister Modi clearly said that India always stands with Seychelles’ progress and its priorities. Keeping this promise of friendship, India has extended a ‘Line of Credit’ of Rs 1,250 crore to Seychelles for infrastructure and development works. Has announced to give. Apart from this, many new schemes will also be started in areas like food, health, job training and maritime security.

PM Modi created history in Seychelles Parliament

The proudest moment of this visit came when Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Seychelles’ National Assembly. Addressed the special session of (Parliament). He has become the first Indian Prime Minister to address the Parliament of Seychelles.

In his speech he mentioned the old friendship of the two countries, democracy and rule of law. After this, PM Modi also met Seychelles opposition leader Bernard Georges and discussed increasing mutual cooperation.
