Pune: The culprit who raped and murdered a 4 year old girl was hanged, the court said – this is the harshest punishment under the law.

Pune: The court has given a big verdict in the case of rape and murder of a four-year-old girl in Pune district of Maharashtra. The special fast track court, while sentencing the convict to death, said that this crime is very serious and will shock the society. The court remarked that in such cases, strictest punishment is required, so that a clear message is sent to the society that such crimes against children will not be tolerated at any cost.

On Monday, June 29, Pune Special Fast Track Court Judge S.R. Salunke gave the verdict in this case. The court awarded death sentence to 65-year-old convict Bhimrao Kamble. While pronouncing the verdict, the judge said that this crime is so heinous that mere life imprisonment cannot be considered sufficient. The court also said that the harshest punishment available under the law is death penalty and that is why this sentence is being awarded.
