China, Portugal enter grand finale of Da Nang International Fireworks Festival
The two teams were selected by the jury of DIFF 2026 after the qualifying rounds, based on criteria including concept and theme, creativity, pyrotechnic effects, synchronization between music and fireworks, overall performance quality, and audience impact.
Jiangxi Yanfeng Art Fireworks Display from China, the defending champion of DIFF 2025, impressed with its performance titled “Flower of the Orient,” while Portugese team stood out with an artistic presentation that seamlessly blended music and visual effects.

During the “Vision” themed night, the Portuguese team drew attention for recreating the image of Vietnam’s bamboo groves set to the song “Dong mau Lac Hong” about the legendary dragon and fairy parents of Vietnamese people.
Also on June 28 morning, organizers held a draw to determine the performance order for the final. Accordingly, Portugal will perform first, followed by China under the theme “Connecting Horizons.”
The organizers also announced the DIFF 2026 prize structure, with the champion set to receive US$20,000, and the runner-up $10,000. The Audience Choice Award determined by public vote and two additional awards, most creative and most promising teams, will each carry a prize of $5,000.
DIFF 2026 runs from May 30 to July 11 and features 10 teams from China, France, Japan, Italy, Germany, Macao, Portugal, Australia, and two teams from Vietnam.
The grand finale will be on July 11.
