Maruti Baleno Price Hike: Maruti Suzuki gives a shock to Baleno lovers, premium hatchback car prices increased

Car becomes costlier by ₹7,500, no change in base model
According to automobile dealers and media reports, Maruti Suzuki has increased the prices of Baleno by Rs 5,000 to ₹ 7,500, depending on the variant. However, it is a matter of relief that the company has not made any change in the price of the base variant (Sigma) of Baleno. Ex-showroom prices for the Sigma variant still start at ₹5,98,900. The company has taken this strategic step so that it does not have a direct impact on first-time car buying customers. At the same time, manual, automatic (AMT) and CNG models of Delta, Zeta and Alpha variants of Baleno have become expensive. Now the new prices of Baleno start from ₹5.99 lakh and go up to ₹9.17 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top variant.
Statement from dealerships and market experts
“This partial revision in prices has been necessitated due to rising input costs i.e. the cost of raw materials and the continuous rise in freight costs. However, we have tried to minimize the impact on customers, hence the prices of the entry-level models have been kept the same.”
— Rajeev Malhotra, Senior Sales Consultant, Connaught Place Nexa Dealership, New Delhi
Impact on common man’s pocket and next step
The new rates have been implemented at showrooms located in major commercial hubs and automobile markets of New Delhi such as Jhandewalan and Saket. This change in prices, just ahead of the festive and wedding season, may slightly affect the budget of those middle-class families who were thinking of buying the top-end model (Alpha) of Baleno or the eco-friendly CNG variant. If you want to avoid this increase, you can visit your local dealership to get instant information about the current stock, old booking rules or corporate discounts. The company has also revised the prices of other models in the Nexa portfolio like the Frontex and XL6, the detailed list of which is available at the nearest showroom.
