Honda Scooter: Honda has launched the new maxi-scooter Vario EVO 160 in the Indonesian market. After the entry of the new model, the company has also discontinued the old Vario 160. Coming with attractive design, advanced technology and strong performance, this scooter has the ability to give a tough challenge to models like Yamaha Aerox 155 and Hero Xoom 160. There is no official information regarding its launch in India yet, but considering its price in Indonesia, its possible price in India is being estimated. At the same time, TVS is also preparing to launch a new maxi-scooter in this segment.
Price and Variants
Honda Vario EVO 160 has been introduced in Indonesia in three variants.
Vario EVO 160 CBS – IDR 28,525,000 (approx. ₹1.49 lakh)
Vario EVO 160 CBS Nitro – IDR 28,775,000 (Approximately ₹1.51 Lakh)
Vario EVO 160 ABS – IDR 31,406,000 (approx. ₹1.64 lakh)
The top variant has been provided with many additional safety and premium features including ABS.
Features and Technology
Honda Vario EVO 160 has been equipped with modern features. It has features like ABS, Combi Brake System, ACG Starter, Idling Stop System and Digital Instrument Cluster. At the same time, many advanced technologies are seen in its rival Yamaha Aerox Alpha. It includes features like Yamaha’s new electronic CVT transmission, turbo technology, full-color TFT display, front and rear disc brakes and integrated damper.
Engine and Performance
- Honda Vario EVO 160 has a 160cc 4-valve eSP+ liquid-cooled engine. This engine generates maximum power of 15hp and peak torque of 14Nm. The engine is mated to an automatic V-Matic transmission. According to the company, its top speed can reach 109 km/h.
- On the other hand, Yamaha Aerox Alpha gets a 155cc engine, which produces 15hp power and 14.2Nm torque. It also has riding modes like T-Mode (City Riding) and S-Mode (Sport Riding), which further improve its riding experience.
Will there be entry in India?
The maxi-scooter segment is gradually becoming popular in India. Yamaha Aerox 155 and Hero Xoom 160 are already present in this segment. In such a situation, if Honda Vario EVO 160 is launched in the Indian market, customers can get another premium and feature-loaded option.
