Work BJP, face of Rajbhar! New plan to corner Akhilesh on non-Yadav politics

Lucknow. The non-Yadav backward vote bank is becoming the center of the biggest electoral battle in Uttar Pradesh politics before the 2027 assembly elections. On one hand, BJP is giving the message of development and welfare schemes through its organization and government, while on the other hand, the leaders of its allies are busy cornering the opposition on social and caste issues. The most active face among these is considered to be that of Omprakash Rajbhar.

In the last few months, Rajbhar has made the Samajwadi Party and especially Akhilesh Yadav the center of most of his political attacks. Political analysts believe that this is an attempt to give a different political message among the non-Yadav backward classes. Although BJP has not officially stated this as its strategy.

Yadav politics continuously on the target of Rajbhar

Omprakash Rajbhar has repeatedly raised the issue in his public statements that backward class politics should not be limited to any one caste. Many of his statements have been directly focused on the Samajwadi Party and its leadership. Due to this, the focus of political debate appears to be shifting towards the discussion of Yadav versus non-Yadav backward classes. Political experts see this as an attempt to make a dent in the traditional social base of the opposition.

BJP eyes non-Yadav OBC vote bank

In Uttar Pradesh, many non-Yadav backward castes including Rajbhar, Nishad, Kurmi, Maurya, Shakya, Lodh, Kashyap, Prajapati, Bind, Pal play a decisive role in large numbers. BJP has been trying to strengthen its hold in these sections for the last several elections. The strategy of conveying political messages to these communities by putting forward the leaders of allied parties is also considered to be a part of this.

Discussion like strategy of Bihar

It is also discussed among political analysts that BJP had gained electoral lead in Bihar by strengthening its base among the non-Yadav backward and extremely backward classes. In Uttar Pradesh too, similar efforts are being seen to keep the non-Yadav OBC classes united. Rajbhar’s activism is being linked to this broader social strategy.

PDA vs Non-Yadava Equation

While Samajwadi Party is trying to strengthen the social alliance through PDA (Backward, Dalit, Minority), BJP is emphasizing on maintaining its acceptability among non-Yadav backward classes. For this reason, Omprakash Rajbhar’s statements are often seen directly challenging the SP and its social base.

Important front of the battle of 2027

Political experts believe that the upcoming assembly elections will depend not only on development or the functioning of the government, but also on social equations and caste alliances to a great extent. In such a situation, Omprakash Rajbhar’s activism and his political role with BJP may become more important in the coming months.

What is the political message?

Political analysts assess that the BJP is trying to maintain and strengthen its hold among the non-Yadav backward classes, while the Samajwadi Party is trying to expand the PDA alliance with its traditional base. In such a situation, the continuous aggressive statements of Omprakash Rajbhar are not being considered as just a political reaction, but a part of the larger social and electoral strategy going on before the 2027 elections.
