Launch of ‘Lakhpati Didi Deskboard’ will help rural women in economic improvement, Keshav Prasad Maurya


‘Lakhpati Didi Deskboard’ was launched in the ‘National Rural Development Conference’ organized in Delhi in which public representatives, senior officials, policy-makers, experts and many stakeholders related to rural development from different states of the country participated. During the program, various schemes, innovations and successful models related to rural development were discussed in detail and emphasis was laid on exchange of best experiences among the states. Senior officials associated with rural development, policy makers and representatives from various states across the country were present. Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Keshav Prasad Maurya, while expressing his opinion, said that this deskboard will play an important role in monitoring the progress of women associated with self-help groups, increasing their income, effective implementation of schemes and better planning and policy making through real-time data available. This initiative is an important step towards making women self-reliant and promoting sustainable livelihoods in rural areas. Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said that rural development has gained new momentum under the leadership of the Prime Minister. The objective of the government is not only to expand basic facilities but also to make rural families, especially women, youth and farmers economically empowered and self-reliant. He said that through self-help groups, women have provided new energy to the rural economy and ‘Lakhpati Didi’ campaign is emerging as a powerful medium for economic empowerment of women.
