Prahlad Joshi’s attack, Hariprasad accused of disturbing communal harmony!
Hariprasad had claimed in Mysuru that “those who kill cattle go to jail, while those who kill humans become PM and CM.”
In a post on social media platform ‘X’ on Monday, Pralhad Joshi said such statements show political despair and represent the lowest level of public discourse. Their aim is to disturb communal harmony instead of addressing the real concerns of the people.
He said that ever since the Congress came to power in Karnataka, the government has ignored public welfare and instead focused on appeasement politics, vote-bank mathematics and creating division in the society.
He said that the Congress leadership has always given priority to political gains rather than governance and development. Joshi said that across the country, Prime Ministers and Chief Ministers are democratically elected by millions of citizens through the constitutional process.
He said that making such derogatory comparisons with people holding the highest constitutional positions in the country, despite ideological differences, is an insult not only to those positions but also to the mandate of the people who elected them. Launching a scathing attack on the Congress, the Union Minister said that though its leaders often preach Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals of truth and non-violence, they easily abandon those principles whenever it suits their political agenda.
He alleged that the party was trying to revive its declining political fortunes by resorting to inflammatory rhetoric and associating with ‘fake Gandhi’ for electoral gains.
The minister also accused the Congress of repeatedly making inflammatory statements to divert public attention from its shortcomings and also of conveniently forgetting its historical failures, including the imposition of Emergency and other tragic chapters in India’s history.
He urged Hariprasad and the Congress leadership to learn to respect constitutional institutions and the dignity of public offices before preaching morality to others. He said such irresponsible comments are a threat to social harmony and are purely motivated by political frustration.
Expressing confidence in the people of Karnataka, the Minister said that the voters will give a befitting reply to the Congress government in the coming days for its divisive and irresponsible politics.
