Horrific road accident on Yamuna Expressway, 4 killed, more than 20 injured in collision between bus and truck
Uttar Pradesh: A horrifying scene of speed and carelessness was seen late on Monday night on Yamuna Expressway in Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh. A high-speed private Volvo bus going from Agra to Noida lost control and rammed into a trailer truck loaded with ballast from behind. In this horrific road accident, four passengers died tragically on the spot, while 20 to 25 people were seriously injured. The collision was so strong that the front part of the bus was completely shattered and there was screams.
Kaal became a gust of sleep late at night
According to the information received from the police, this tragic accident happened near Milestone 111-113 under Raya police station area between 3:30 and 4:00 am on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday. This Volvo bus with Bihar number of ‘Gola Bus Service’ was going from Lucknow towards Delhi with about 65 passengers. Meanwhile, a trailer laden with ballast bearing Rajasthan number was running on the third lane of the expressway.

How did the accident happen?
It is suspected that the bus driver fell asleep late at night, due to which he lost control of the vehicle and the speeding bus rammed directly into the trailer moving ahead. After the accident, there was a long jam on the expressway and an atmosphere of chaos was created.
Administration showed promptness and created ‘Green Corridor’
As soon as information about the incident was received, local police, Yamuna Expressway security personnel and relief teams immediately reached the spot. Mathura SP Suresh Chandra Rawat and CO Mahavan Sanjeev Kumar took charge with force. In view of the critical condition of the injured and to provide them immediate treatment without any delay, the administration prepared a special ‘Green Corridor’ from the incident site to the hospital.
Treatment of people over 19
With the help of ambulance, all the injured were immediately shifted to nearby hospitals, where currently more than 19 people are undergoing treatment. According to doctors, the condition of some passengers remains very critical.
Efforts to identify dead bodies continue
The police have taken the bodies of the four deceased into their custody and sent them for post-mortem. The dead people have not been identified yet, for which the police administration is trying to identify them with the help of their luggage and fellow passengers. Senior officials of the district administration are at the spot and the police have restored regular traffic on the expressway by removing the damaged vehicles with the help of cranes. A legal investigation has been started to find out the exact cause of the accident.
