Mathura. Four people, including the bus driver, conductor and cleaner, were killed and around 25 other passengers were injured when a double-decker bus collided with a container truck on the Yamuna Expressway in Raya police station area of ​​Mathura district in the early hours of Tuesday.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shlok Kumar said that the accident happened around 4 am in the morning on the expressway between 111th and 112th kilometer in Raya police station area. In this accident, the bus coming from Lucknow collided with a container running ahead of it on the expressway.

Shlok Kumar said, initial investigation and statements of the injured passengers show that the bus was not being driven by an authorized driver at the time of the accident. Instead, the conductor was at the steering wheel and driving at high speed.

He said that the container was moving in its designated lane when the speeding bus suddenly took a turn and collided with it from behind. The SSP said that a detailed investigation has been ordered to find out the exact cause of the accident. The deceased have been identified as the bus driver, conductor, cleaner and a passenger.

The injured were admitted to the district hospital, where District Magistrate Chandra Prakash Singh and SSP Shlok Kumar met them. Kumar said that police and district administration officials are supervising the treatment of the injured, and arrangements are also being made for their safe further journey. He said that the families of all the passengers have been informed. SSP said, the condition of none of the injured is serious. Two of them have suffered fractures and they are being given the best possible treatment.
