Historic gift for Shekhawati: MOA between Rajasthan and Haryana on Yamuna Water Project, decades of wait is over

Monday proved to be a historic day for the Shekhawati region of Rajasthan. Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah and Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. In the presence of Patil, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and Haryana Chief Minister Naib Saini signed important MoA for the construction and implementation of Yamuna Water Project.

With this agreement, the decades-awaited Yamuna Water Project of Shekhawati region has got a new impetus. Describing it as a historic achievement for Rajasthan, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said that after a long wait, Shekhawati has got the gift of Yamuna water.

Drinking water and irrigation problem of Shekhawati will be solved

The Chief Minister said that with the implementation of this project, there will be a permanent solution to the drinking water crisis in the districts of Shekhawati region. Besides, sufficient water will be available to the farmers for irrigation, which will increase agricultural production and will also provide great relief to the cattle herders of the area.

He said that this project is not limited to providing water only, but is a major step towards the overall economic and social development of the area.

Expressed gratitude to central leaders

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. for this historic agreement. Expressed gratitude to Patil.

He said that under the leadership of the double engine government, continuous work is being done for the balanced development of every region of Rajasthan and this agreement is the result of that commitment.

Important meeting held in New Delhi

On this occasion, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil and also had a cordial meeting with Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini. During the meeting, construction, implementation and future action plan of Yamuna Water Project were discussed in detail.

With the signing of the MOA, the formal process will now move forward towards implementation of the project.

The development of the area will get new momentum

Experts believe that with the commencement of Yamuna Water Project, the water crisis in Shekhawati region will be reduced to a great extent. This will strengthen agriculture, industry and rural economy and the development of the region will get new momentum in future.

The Rajasthan government says that this agreement is an important achievement towards better management and long-term development of the state’s water resources.
