With the aim of strengthening the Indian film industry and increasing the number of theaters across the country, the Central Government has taken two important decisions. The film industry is going to get a new direction due to the decisions taken by the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. These decisions were taken in a high-level review meeting chaired by Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav. Let us know what those big decisions are.
Meeting of Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting
The Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has constituted a high-level study group under the chairmanship of famous lyricist and writer Prasoon Joshi. Experts from the film world and representatives of the technology sector have been included in this group. This team has been entrusted with the task of studying the opportunities and challenges facing Indian cinema. This group will study and submit its report to the ministry within three months.
AI production boost
In this meeting, it has also been decided to promote the use of new technologies like Artificial Intelligence and Virtual Production.
Measures will also be taken to provide institutional finance and new funding options in film production. Not only this, a solution will also be found to solve the financial crisis that may arise during the making of the film.
Establishment of new cinemas
The rules related to cinema and theater come under the jurisdiction of the states, due to which the permission process is different in different states. In such a situation, the establishment of new theaters in small towns and rural areas is affected. To solve this problem, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, after consultation with all the stakeholders, has prepared ‘Model State Cinema Regulations’ and sent it to all the states for adoption.
