‘My wife was proud of me…’, Ram Kapoor broke silence on the kissing scene controversy, said – ‘Gautami had supported’

In the recent episode of ‘Lock Up 2’, Ram Kapoor had a conversation with Madhuri Grover, wife of businessman Ashneer Grover. During the conversation, Madhuri asked a question about which the audience has always been excited. Madhuri said that it would not be easy for any star’s wife to see her husband doing romantic or intimate scenes with another actress on screen. He wanted to know what was the reaction of his wife Gautami Kapoor when Ram Kapoor did that famous kissing scene with Sakshi Tanwar.

‘Gautami supported me completely’

Answering this question, Ram Kapoor said that his wife had fully supported him at that time. He told that Gautami saw this scene only as an artiste’s work and encouraged him. Ram Kapoor said, “When Gautami came to know that this kissing scene would be shot in ‘Bade Achhe Lagte Hain’, she supported me. She said that something like this was going to happen for the first time on Indian television and she was proud of the fact that I am a part of that change.” Ram also said that trust is the biggest thing between an actor and his spouse. If trust is strong in the relationship between the two, then it becomes easier to maintain balance between professional and personal life.

‘I don’t agree with you’

On Madhuri Grover’s statement that it is difficult for star wives to accept such scenes, Ram Kapoor expressed his different opinion. He said, “I do not completely agree with you. When an actor gives so much love, respect and trust to his spouse that he has full faith in his relationship, then such scenes do not affect the relationship. After all, this is our profession and every actor works as per the requirement of his character.” Ram Kapoor believes that marriage relationship is based on trust and this trust keeps the relationship strong even in difficult circumstances.

Why did the kissing scene of ‘Bade Achhe Lagte Hain’ become controversial?

It is noteworthy that ‘Bade Achhe Lagte Hain’ was a very popular TV show, in which the pairing of Ram Kapoor and Sakshi Tanwar was very much liked by the audience. The onscreen chemistry of both made the show a huge success. However, her lip-lock scene filmed in the show became one of the most controversial scenes of Indian television at that time. At that time such intimate scenes were rarely seen on TV. This was the reason that after the release of this episode, it was discussed extensively on social media, TV industry and among the audience.
