‘He is exactly like me, does not sleep…’ Trump wanted to call PM Modi at 6 in the morning, US Ambassador revealed a big secret

New Delhi: The trade agreement between India and America has reached the final stage. Meanwhile, US Ambassador to India Sergio Gore shared an interesting anecdote related to the friendship between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump. He told that Trump wanted to talk to PM Modi once at around 6 in the morning.

Trump said- ‘Modi wakes up early like me’

At an event of the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF), Sergio Gore told that he was present with President Trump during a UFC event held in Miami a few months ago. During this time, Trump suddenly expressed his desire to call Prime Minister Modi.

The Ambassador reminded him that at that time it would be around 6 in the morning in India. On this, Trump smiled and said that Prime Minister Modi would be awake at that time. He said jokingly, "He is just like me, an early riser."

The conversation between the two leaders took place the next day

Sergio Gore told that finally that phone call was made the next day. However, this incident definitely showed a glimpse of the comfortable and trusting relationship between the two leaders. According to him, when there is a strong friendship between two leaders, the need for formalities becomes less.

Trump’s special thinking about India

The US Ambassador said that President Trump still considers the memories of his visit to India very special. Programs like ‘Howdy Modi’ and ‘Namaste Trump’ organized during his first term had given new strength to the relations between the two countries. He also indicated that Trump is willing to visit India again in the future.

Focus will be on trade and strategic partnership

According to Sergio Gore, the coming two years will be very important for the relations between India and America. Both the countries are working together to move forward in trade, investment, defence, technology and other strategic areas. He believes that the decisions taken during this period will further strengthen the partnership between the two countries in future.
