World number six team Morocco defeated seventh number Netherlands 3-2 in a penalty shootout in a thrilling match and eliminated them from the tournament. The match remained tied at 1-1 during regular time and extra time, after which the winner was decided by a penalty shootout.

Netherlands scored the first goal of the match. In the 72nd minute, Cody Gakpo gave the team a 1-0 lead by scoring the ball in the goal on a brilliant pass from Cresencio Somerville. Just when it seemed that Netherlands would win the match, Morocco made a brilliant comeback in injury time. In the 91st minute, Issa Diop made the score 1-1 with a header from Chemsedin Talbi’s long cross and sent the match into extra time. In the extra 30 minutes, both the teams did not get a chance to score any major goal. After this, in the penalty shootout, both the teams remained tied at 2-2 for four rounds.

The decisive moment came when Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bounu brilliantly saved Crescencio Somerville’s penalty. After this, Ismail Saibari gave Morocco a memorable victory by sending the ball into the lower left corner of the goal post.
