Moong MSP: Big relief for farmers selling moong, government fixed the date of purchase, know the complete rules
As soon as the Zaid moong crop was ready, farmers were keeping an eye on when the government would start the procurement (Moong MSP). Amidst the fear of getting lower prices in the market, now a relief news has emerged for the farmers. The government has decided to start procurement at minimum support price, which is expected to directly benefit thousands of farmers.

Moong MSP procurement will start from July 7
The Gujarat government has announced that the procurement of Zaid Moong in the state will start from July 7. This purchase will be done through the Price Support Scheme under the Pradhan Mantri Asha Yojana of the Central Government.
The government says that if the price of moong in the market remains below the minimum support price, then the government will buy the produce from the farmers at the support price, so that they do not have to suffer financial loss.
How much support price has been fixed?
The Central Government has set the minimum support price of Zaid Moong at Rs 8768 per quintal this year. If the price is less than this in the mandis, then purchase will be made from the eligible farmers at the same rate.
How much will it cost to purchase from a farmer
According to the government, the production standard of 1200 kg per hectare has been fixed. At the same time, maximum 1500 kg i.e. 75 maunds of moong will be purchased from one farmer.
Thousands of farmers got registered
So far, 14383 farmers across the state have registered to sell moong at support price. 51 procurement centers (Moong MSP) have been created in different districts for the procurement process. Information about the date and time of purchase will be sent to registered farmers through mobile message. Farmers will have to reach the respective procurement center with their produce at the same scheduled time.
Government’s appeal to farmers
The state government has appealed to all the registered farmers to reach the procurement centers as per the schedule. The government says that by bringing the produce on time, the procurement process will be smooth and farmers will be able to get the full benefit of the scheme.
