Terrorist conspiracy foiled in Delhi, Special Cell arrested 4 accused working on the instructions of ISI handler Shehzad Bhatti.

The Special Cell of Delhi Police has arrested four accused by conducting an inter-state operation based on intelligence information. According to the police, the accused were in touch with Pakistan-based alleged ISI handler Shehzad Bhatti and his associates and were planning to carry out a terrorist incident in Delhi. This operation was conducted under the supervision of ACP Vivek Kumar Tyagi of Special Cell. Investigation revealed that the accused were using foreign mobile numbers to avoid arrest and hide their activities. These numbers were provided by their Pakistani handlers. Delhi Police has registered an FIR in this case and based on the interrogation of the accused, the entire network, their contacts and other aspects of the conspiracy are being investigated.

The Special Cell of Delhi Police has received intelligence that alleged ISI handler Shahzad Bhatti, present in Pakistan, along with his other associates was planning to carry out a terrorist incident in Delhi-NCR. According to the police, preliminary investigation has also revealed that some youth from Punjab were recruited to carry out this alleged conspiracy. It is alleged that attempts were made to involve these youth in terrorist activities by contacting them through various mediums.

The Special Cell of Delhi Police conducted raids at several places in Delhi and Punjab based on intelligence and technical analysis. During this time, some suspects were identified and interrogated, after which the first arrest in the case was made from Majitha Road area in Amritsar, Punjab. According to the police, the arrested accused has been identified as Shubhdeep Singh. A semi-automatic pistol, five live cartridges and two mobile phones have been recovered from his possession.

During interrogation, the accused reportedly revealed that he was in touch with the handlers of Shehzad Bhatti Network based in Pakistan. Police claim that the accused was also involved in the activities of importing weapons and narcotics through drones. Delhi Police has seized the recovered mobile phone and other digital evidence for investigation.

According to the police, based on the interrogation of the main accused, his two alleged associates Gurjant Singh alias Rishi and Sajan Singh alias Honey were arrested from Punjab. Police said that one pistol, four live cartridges and two mobile phones have been recovered from the possession of both the accused. Forensic examination of the recovered weapons and digital devices is being conducted. After this, another accused named Gaganpreet was arrested from Delhi. According to the police, a mobile phone and many important evidence related to the investigation have been recovered from him. The Special Cell claims that Gaganpreet was assigned the task of conducting recce of religious places and police establishments in Delhi by alleged handlers based in Pakistan. According to the investigation, he was also instructed to carry out a firing incident in the capital.

1. Shubhdeep Singh alias Vishal

According to the police, Shubhdeep Singh is a resident of Tarn Taran district of Punjab, which is located about three kilometers from the India-Pakistan border. The investigation alleges that he used to order consignments of pistols and narcotics from Pakistan through drones. He reportedly used foreign mobile numbers to contact ISI handlers and drone operators based in Pakistan. According to the police, he has already been arrested by Punjab Police in an NDPS case.

2. Gurjant Singh alias Rishi

Gurjant Singh is also a resident of Tarn Taran, Punjab. Police allege that he was in touch with alleged ISI handlers through foreign numbers. According to the investigating agencies, he along with his cousin Sajan Singh alias Honey was involved in importing consignments of arms and narcotics from Pakistan through drones.

3. Sajan Singh alias Honey

Sajan Singh is a resident of Amritsar, Punjab. According to the police, he was also in touch with alleged ISI handlers based in Pakistan using foreign numbers. He has also been arrested earlier by Punjab Police in an NDPS case.

4. Gaganpreet

According to the police, Gaganpreet is a resident of Fatehgarh Sahib district of Punjab. The investigation alleges that he came in contact with the alleged handlers based in Pakistan through social media. Delhi Police claims that it was entrusted with the responsibility of video recording police stations and police pickets in the capital and carrying out firing incidents.
