Amarnath Yatra 2026: PM Modi’s emotional message to Amarnath pilgrims, made 5 big resolutions before the yatra

New Delhi: With the beginning of Amarnath Yatra, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has issued a special letter to the devotees. In his message, while wishing all the Shiva devotees, he described the Yatra as a symbol of India’s eternal spiritual tradition, cultural unity and spirit of service. He also urged the devotees to take five important resolutions.

Amidst the rain, groups of devotees have left from Baltal and Pahalgam base camps for the darshan of Baba Barfani. More than 10 thousand devotees are included in the first batch. Devotees traveling via Baltal route will have darshan till evening on the same day, while devotees traveling via Pahalgam route will reach the holy cave in the afternoon the next day. This annual yatra will continue till 28th August.

Prime Minister Modi said in his letter that it is a privilege for every devotee to participate in the holy Amarnath Yatra to be organized in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that with the first puja of Jyeshtha Purnima, the process of darshan of Baba Barfani begins and lakhs of devotees from India and abroad reach Jammu and Kashmir to participate in this spiritual journey.

He said that Amarnath Yatra is an eternal chapter of India’s spiritual pilgrimage tradition, where devotees belonging to different states, languages ​​and traditions gather with the resolve to have the darshan of Mahadev. The Prime Minister appreciated the role being played by Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, Jammu and Kashmir Administration and security agencies in managing the Yatra.

The Prime Minister expressed special gratitude to the Indian Army, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Jammu and Kashmir Police, ITBP, BSF, NDRF, doctors and staff associated with health services, administrative officers, sanitation workers and all those engaged in service work. He said that Amarnath Yatra is a living example of India’s unity in diversity and the spirit of selfless service. During the Yatra, the local citizens of Jammu and Kashmir warmly welcome the devotees, while the devotees coming from all over the country render service through stores and langars.

PM Modi took 5 resolutions from passengers

The Prime Minister urged the devotees going on Amarnath Yatra to take five resolutions.

First resolution: Follow the rules of cleanliness during the journey and contribute in keeping the entire route clean.

Second resolution: Follow all the instructions of the administration, traffic rules and safety related guidelines completely. Take necessary precautions to protect yourself from rain, slippage and cold.

Third resolution: Under the ‘Vocal for Local’ campaign, spend at least 10 percent of your travel expenses on purchasing local products, which will strengthen the livelihood of families and youth of Jammu and Kashmir.

Fourth resolution: Gift a sapling to your brother or sister on Rakshabandhan, the concluding day of Amarnath Yatra, and take forward the ‘One Tree in the Name of Mother’ campaign.

Fifth resolution: Perform your duties sincerely throughout the year with the spirit of Nation First and contribute actively in building a developed India.

At the end of his message, Prime Minister Modi expressed confidence that this holy journey of Baba Amarnath will become a grand celebration of the faith of Sanatan Dharma, cultural unity of India and tradition of service. He wished a safe, auspicious and successful journey of all the devotees and prayed to Baba Barfani to shower his blessings on everyone.
